Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
