The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
