The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 When whither go ye? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
