'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 And make my affair easy to me, 26 And loose the knot from my tongue, 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen me through him 31 and let him share my task, 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 And remember you a great deal. 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 He said: You are indeed granted your petition, O Musa 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 "'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye. 39 When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. 40 "And I have Istana'tuka, for Myself. 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear." 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 Answered He: "Fear not! Verily, I shall be with you two, hearing and seeing [all]. 46 So, go to him, and say: 'Behold, both of us are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not chastise them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; and peace shall be for him who follows the true guidance. 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement shall light upon him who cries lies and turns his back." 48 [But when God's message was conveyed unto Pharaoh,] he said: "Who, now, is this Sustainer of you two, O Moses?" 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 Pharaoh asked, "What about the previous generations?" 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a book, my Lord errs not, nor does He forget; 52 It is God who has made the earth as a cradle for you with roads for you to travel. He has sent water from the sky to produce various pairs of plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle, (therein); verily, in this are proofs and signs for men of understanding. 54
