40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ OF WHAT ARE they asking one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 Requital corresponding. 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
