Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 They used to say before: 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
