The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
