And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 We have placed in it gardens of date palms and vines, and caused springs to gush [forth] from it, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise. 38 And the moon! For it We have decreed mansions till it reverteth like the old branch of a palm-tree. 39 It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law). 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 And We have created for them of the like thereunto whereon they ride. 42 And if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved 43 It is only by Our mercy that they are granted provision for a time. 44 And when it is said to them, 'Fear what is before you and what is behind you; haply you will find mercy' -- 45 Never came a token of the tokens of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it! 46 And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error. 47 They say, "When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48 They await just one scream, which will overcome them while they are involved in worldly disputes. 49 They will have no time to make a will, nor shall they return to their own people. 50
