The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away. 81 And they were hewing out houses from mountains feeling secure. 82 But the Shout seized them in the morning, 83 And all that they had done (for security) availed them nothing. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 And say: Surely I am the plain warner. 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 and who have broken the Scripture into fragments -- 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 about what they did. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 But celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and be of those who prostrate themselves in adoration. 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
