The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Closer and closer to mankind comes their Reckoning: yet they heed not and they turn away. 1 no Remembrance from their Lord comes to them lately renewed, but they listen to it yet playing, 2 With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?" 3 He (Muhammad SAW) said: "My Lord knows (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower." 4 Nay, they say:"These (revelations of the Quran which are inspired to Muhammad SAW) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented it! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayah (sign as a proof) like the ones (Prophets) that were sent before (with signs)!" 5 (As to those) before them, not one of the populations which We destroyed believed: will these believe? 6 The messengers We sent before you were but men whom We had sent revelations. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know this -- 7 And We did not create them without bodies so they would not eat food – nor that they abide on earth forever. 8 We then fulfilled the promise to them, therefore rescued them and whomever We willed, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 Now We have revealed unto you a Scripture wherein is your Reminder. Have ye then no sense? 10
