The believers ask: 'Has a chapter been sent down' But when a clear chapter is sent down and fighting is mentioned in it, you see those in whose hearts is sickness looking towards you as one who swoons at death. 20 obedience, and words honourable. Then, when the matter is resolved, if they were true to God, it would be better for them. 21 Could it be, that if you turn away, you might make corruption in the land and break the ties of kinship? 22 God has condemned these people and made them deaf, dumb, and blind. 23 Will they not then contemplate on the Koran? Or are there locks upon their hearts! 24 Those who turn their backs after the way of guidance has been opened to them, have been surely tempted by Satan and beguiled by illusory hopes. 25 This, because they said to those who are averse to the faith that Allah has revealed: “In some matters we shall obey you.” Allah has full knowledge of their secret parleys. 26 But how will it be when the angels cause them to die smiting their backs. 27 That is because they have followed a way that angered Allah, and have been averse to His good pleasure. So He reduced all their works to nought. 28
