The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
