Nay, and by the moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About the guilty: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until death approached us". 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
