The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
