Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 In a Garden on high, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 and goblets set forth 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
