The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
