The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta'. Sin. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a Clear Book; 1 a guidance and good tidings for the believers 2 who are steadfast in prayer, who pay the religious tax, and who have strong faith in the life hereafter. 3 We have made those who do not believe in the Hereafter feel their actions appear good to them, so they wander blindly: 4 Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers. 5 But [as for thee, O believer,] verily, thou hast received this Qur'an out of the grace of One who is wise, all-knowing. 6 Tell of Moses who said to his family, "I have seen a fire. I will bring you news from there, or a burning brand for you to warm yourselves." 7 But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds. 8 Moses, it is I, Allah, the Almighty, the Wise. 9 And cast down your staff. So when he saw it in motion as if it were a serpent, he turned back retreating and did not return: O Musa! fear not; surely the apostles shall not fear in My presence; 10 "Except him who has done wrong and afterwards has changed evil for good, then surely, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 11 Thrust thy hand in thy bosom and it will come forth white without evil-among nine signs to Pharaoh and his people; they are an ungodly people.' 12 But when Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came to them, clear to see, they said: "This is a manifest magic." 13 And they gainsaid them, out of spite and arrogance, although their souls were convinced thereof. So behold! what hath been the end of the corruptors. 14
