And the disbelievers said, “Will we, when we and our forefathers have turned into dust, be removed again?” 67 We were promised this before, and so were our fathers. It is but the fictitious story of the ancients' 68 Say: "Go ye through the earth and see what has been the end of those guilty (of sin)." 69 And grieve thou not over them nor be straitened because of that which they plot. 70 And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?" 71 Say: Maybe there may have drawn near to you somewhat of that which you seek to hasten on. 72 Truly, your Lord is bountiful to mankind, but most of them are not grateful. 73 Verily your Lord knows what lies hidden in their breasts and what they disclose. 74 And there is nothing concealed in the heaven and the earth but it is in a clear book. 75 Indeed this Qur'an explains to the children of Israel much of what they are at variance. 76 And truly, it (this Quran) is a guide and a mercy to the believers. 77 Your Lord will judge among them according to His own decree. He is Majestic and All-Knowing. 78 So you place your trust in God. Certainly you stand on positive truth. 79 [But,] verily, thou canst not make the dead hear: and [so, too,] thou canst not make the deaf [of heart] hear this call when they turn their backs [on thee] and go away, 80 Nor canst thou lead the blind out of their error. Thou canst make none to hear, save those who believe Our revelations and who have surrendered. 81 ۞ And when the word is fulfilled concerning them, We shall bring forth a beast of the earth to speak unto them because mankind had not faith in Our revelations. 82
