It is not your wealth and children that will bring you closer to Us, except those who believe and do the right. These will be given a two-fold reward for their deeds, and will dwell in peace in the high empyrean. 37 And as for those who strive against Our revelations, challenging, they will be brought to the doom. 38 Say: Lo! my Lord enlargeth the provision for whom He will of His bondmen, and narroweth (it) for him. And whatsoever ye spend (for good) He replaceth it. And He is the Best of Providers. 39 And on the Day whereon He gathereth them together, then He will say unto the angels: was it ye that these were wont to worship? 40 "God forbid!" (they will answer). "You are our protector not they. In fact, they worshipped the devils. Most of them believed in them." 41 today ye own not for one another either benefit or hurt. And We shall say unto those who did wrong: taste the torment of the Fire which ye were wont to belie. 42 And when our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, they say, "This is not but a man who wishes to avert you from that which your fathers were worshipping." And they say, "This is not except a lie invented." And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them, "This is not but obvious magic." 43 whereas We gave them no Books that they could study nor sent to them any warner before you. 44 Those who went before them also denounced (Allah's Messengers) as liars. They have not attained even a tenth of what We had given them. But when they rejected My Messengers, calling them liars, how terrible was My chastisement! 45
