HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 Thamud, 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None but God can avert it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
