And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (See the Quran Verse 35:45). 30 Ye cannot escape in the earth, for beside Allah ye have no protecting friend nor any helper. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, in the sea, like mountains. 32 If He willeth He causeth the wind to cease so that they keep still on the back thereof; verily therein are signs for every patient, grateful person. 33 Or He may destroy them (by drowning) because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much. 34 But let those know, who dispute about Our Signs, that there is for them no way of escape. 35 AND [remember that] whatever you are given [now] is but for the [passing] enjoyment of life in this world - whereas that which is with God is far better and more enduring. [It shall be given] to all who attain to faith and in their Sustainer place their trust; 36 (This reward will be for) those who keep away from major sins and indecency, who forgive when they are made angry, 37 who respond to their Lord and attend to their prayers; who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation and spend out of what We have provided for them; 38 And those who, when great wrong afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 Let harm be requited by an equal harm. But whoever pardons and amends will find his reward with God. He does not love the wrongdoers. 40 And indeed whosoever takes revenge after he has suffered wrong, for such there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 The blame is only against those who oppress men and wrong-doing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice: for such there will be a penalty grievous. 42 To exercise patience and forgive (the wrong done to one) is the proof of genuine determination. 43
