▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Furthermore I call to witness the setting of the Stars,- 75 and, indeed, that is a most mighty oath, if you only knew -- 76 Behold, it is a truly noble discourse, 77 In a Register well-protected; 78 which none shall touch except the purified; 79 a sending down from the Lord of all Being. 80 So is this the matter regarding which you laze? 81 And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]? 82 Why, then, when (the soul) cometh up to the throat (of the dying) 83 and you are watching at that time 84 (And We are nigher him than you, but you do not see Us) 85 why, then, if [you think that] you are not truly dependent [on Us,] 86 That you bring it back, if you are truthful? 87 And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allah, 88 there shall be repose and ease, and a Garden of Delight; 89 If he is a Companion of the Right 90 he will be greeted with, "Peace be to you," by those on the Right. 91 But if one happens to be of those who are wont to call the truth a lie, and [thus] go astray, 92 Then his reception is the hot boiling water. 93 And burning in hell. 94 Lo! this is certain truth. 95 Then praise your Lord, the most supreme. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
