Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
