He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 To him you attend; 6 though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 and fearfully, 9 you ignore him. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 Exalted and purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and pious. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man look at his food: 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 to yield therein corn, 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 and from his spouse and his children: 36 Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 with darkness overspread: 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
