Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
