In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 A lying, sinning forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
