The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 We brought them Our signs, and they turned away from them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 But they were seized by the mighty blast towards the morning; 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Indeed your Lord only is the Great Creator, the All Knowing. 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 Do not yearn for other people's property and wives and do not grieve (that they do not believe). Be kind to the believers. 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
