Al-Mu' minoon 3 of 6
And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and to whom We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said: "He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink. 33 And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers: 34 "Does he promise that when ye die and become dust and bones, ye shall be brought forth (again)? 35 ۞ How far-fetched what you are promised; 36 There is nought but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we are not going to be raised up. 37 "He is only a man who invents a lie against Allah, but we are not the ones to believe in him!" 38 He said: "O my Lord! Help me because they deny me." 39 [And God] would say: "After a little while they will surely be smitten with remorse!" 40 And the Cry seized them justly, and We made them as scum; so away with the people of the evildoers! 41 Then We produced after them other generations. 42 No nation will precede its time [of termination], nor will they remain [thereafter]. 43 Then sent We Our Messengers successively; whenever its Messenger came to a nation they cried him lies, so We caused some of them to follow others, and We made them as but tales; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear authority 45 To Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were arrogant and were a haughty people. 46 They therefore said, “Shall we believe in two humans like ourselves, whereas their nation is servile to us?” 47 So they denied them, and became of those who were destroyed. 48 We gave the Book to Moses so that perhaps they may have guidance. 49 And We made the son of Maryam and his mother a sign; and We sheltered the twain on a height: a quiet abode and running water. 50

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
