Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
