The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come to know what it has brought. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills - the Lord of the Creation. 29
