The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
