The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the glorious morning light; 1 and by the night when it darkens, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 And indeed the latter is better for you than the former. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Has He not found thee an orphan, and given thee shelter? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]. 9 and as for the beggar, scold him not; 10 But tell of the favors of your Lord! 11
