Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
Man We fashioned from fermented clay dried tingling hard, 26 And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, bow before him in homage;" 29 All the angels prostrated before Adam 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?" 32 He replied: 'I will not prostrate to a mortal You have created of clay, from molded mud' 33 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 Iblis prayed, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Judgment". 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 “Till the Day of a well-known time.” 38 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,- 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 Surely, you shall have no power over My true servants, except those misguided ones who choose to follow you. 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 "It (Hell) has seven gates, for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
