The Thamud (people) rejected the messengers. 141 When their fellowman Saleh said to them, “Do you not fear?” 142 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 143 so fear you God, and obey you me.' 144 I do not ask any recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 145 Shall ye be left secure in that which is here before us. 146 In gardens and fountains, 147 and cornfields and date-palms laden with juicy fruits? 148 hewing out houses in the mountains and taking pride in your skill? 149 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me; 150 And obey not the command of the extravagant. 151 Who spread corruption in the earth, and reform not. 152 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 153 You are a mere mortal like us. Show us a miracle if you are telling the Truth". 154 He said: yonder is a she-camel; to her a drink, and to you a drink, each on a day known. 155 And do not touch her with evil, lest the punishment of a grievous day should overtake you. 156 But they hamstrung her and so became regretful. 157 So the punishment overtook them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 158 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 159

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
