I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning for people -- 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
