HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
