Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 and the severally severing 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
