The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 And who guard their private organs. 5 Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed - 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Then We fashioned the sperm into an embryo, then fashioned the embryo into a shapeless lump of flesh; then from the lump of flesh We fashioned bones, then clothed the bones with flesh. Thus We formed him into a new creation. So blessed be God the best of Creators. 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
