The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 Have fear of the One who has created you and the generations that lived before you." 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
