Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
