Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are Verses of the Wise Book (the Quran). 2 providing guidance and grace unto the doers of good 3 Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith]. 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord, and only they are the successful. 5 But among men there is many a one that prefers a mere play with words [to divine guidance,] so as to lead [those] without knowledge astray from the path of God, and to turn it to ridicule: for such there is shameful suffering in store. 6 When Our verses are recited to such a person, he arrogantly turns away, as though he had not heard them, or as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce to him the tidings of a grievous chastisement. 7 Verily, those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them are Gardens of delight (Paradise). 8 Abiding in them; the promise of Allah; (a) true (promise), and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind. 10 Such is the Creation of Allah: now show Me what is there that others besides Him have created: nay, but the Transgressors are in manifest error. 11
