And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
