And assuredly We have created man and We know whatsoever his soul whispereth unto him, and We are nigher unto him than his jugular vein. 16 Moreover, there are two scribes, one each sitting on the right and the left, recording everything. 17 He utters not a word, but there is a vigilant watcher at hand. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth: "This is what you have been avoiding!" 19 And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom. 20 Every soul will be accompanied (by an angel) behind him and another as a witness. 21 [and will be told:] "Indeed, unmindful hast thou been of this [Day of Judgment]; but now We have lifted from thee thy veil, and sharp is thy sight today!" 22 His companion attendant will say, "I have here his record ready." 23 (And it is said): Do ye twain hurl to hell each rebel ingrate, 24 Hinderer of good, trespasser, doubter 25 and has set up another deity with Allah. Hurl him into the grievous torment.” 26 ۞ And his comrade shall say, 'Our Lord, I made him not insolent, but he was in far error.' 27 He shall say, 'Dispute not before Me! For I sent you beforehand -- the threat. 28 My Word is not changed; and never do I inflict the least wrong upon My servants.” 29
