Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 and placed it before them. "Will you not eat?" he said, 27 He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" 31 They said, 'We have been sent to a people of sinners, 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
