The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
