The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man, 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
