Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In a lofty Garden 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
