The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 , A fitting reward. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
