The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And who glide with ease. 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
