The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
